The ALVEY Family of C17th/C18th Nottinghamshire
The family name is believed to come from the Old English for Elf War.
Joseph BLATHERWICK (c1677) and his wife Ann ALVEY (my 7xGGPs) married in Burton Joyce, Notts., on 10.10.1709. Ann is d/o Henry ALVEY (c1660, my 8xGGF) and wife unknown of Burton Joyce, who may be the marriage at Nottingham St Mary 21.5.1681.
