TROWELL Family of Nottinghamshire
The family name
is derived from the village of Trowell in Nottinghamshire, named
in Old English from trēow ‘tree’ + wella
‘stream’. The village is on the Derbys./Notts. border
between Ilkeston & Nottingham with DE TROWELL family names
dating back to C14th.
Elizabeth TROWELL
(1535) married Walter HARDING
by 1562 (my 11xGGPs).
